My friend Matt performs a Spanish classical guitar piece for a couple at the restaurant where he works as a performer. He is subconsciously flirting with the woman with his music and his expressions (which he is tactfully able to pass off as part of the performance). The woman picks up on it a bit and feels only slightly uncomfortable. She enjoys being enjoyed, and she is impressed with his musical talents anyway. her date pays little attention the performance of the instrument and more to that of the player, and he is less than impressed. He does not like Matt flirting with his date, but he knows he is in a vulnerable position because no one can start a fight with the guitar man at a restaurant. Besides, Matt will pretend he only understands Spanish, and that he is just doing his job. He and the girl all in all enjoy the interaction, her date will leave defeated, though, in the end, with the girl. Matt isn't pursuing her for a date; he pursues her for a moment of connection. He comes out on top because he gets his moment.
